Well there were two chief suspects in this terrible case
And they both had a really guilty look upon their face
They both had the motive and they both had the means
And they both had traces of Elton’s blood upon their jeans
They both had a questionable alibi
And fingerprints all over Elton’s tie
It was a difficult case and a despicable crime
Caused many a detective to lose their mind
Because it was quite clear that there could have been only one
Killer in the case of the murder of Sir Elton

Who murdered Elton John? Who murdered Elton? Was it George Michael? Or was it Michael Barrymore? (Tell me more, tell me more)

Now for Elton’s 65th birthday he organised the world’s biggest musical parade
How was he to know that on that very day would see him fall to his grave?
All the nation’s most famous celebrities were gathered there from Dale Winton to Julian Clary
There were even crazy rumours murmured of a guest appearance from the ghost of the late Freddie Mercury
It was quite the most unexpected of assassinations
And it fuelled some absolutely ridiculous allegations
Conspiracy theorists did their best to compose
A thousand different plots they tried to expose
They even tried to pin the blame on the royal family and the government too; and all kinds of other terrorists for the first few weeks of the case until the weapon was found
It was an antique silver knife owned by George Michael buried underground
So the arrest was made, “George Michael’s the killer!” the tabloids proclaimed
But the complications of the case they didn’t end there, ‘cause forensics found Barrymore’s fingerprints on Michael’s knife and the case went on….
